It was believed that in Ancient Egypt individual kings worshipped their own Gods, as did the workers, priests, merchants and peasants that lived in those times. The names of Gods in Ancient Egypt were very mystic and powerful and each Egyptian God had five names, and each was associated with an element, such as air, with celestial bodies, or were a descriptive statement about the Ancient Egyptian God, such as strong, virile or majestic. It is known that the creator of all things was either the God Ra, Amun, Ptah, Khnum or Aten while the heavens were ruled by Hathor, Bat, and Horus. Osiris was an earth God and the annual flooding of the Nile was caused by Hapi. Storms, evil and confusion were Seth and his counterpart was Ma'at, who was the opposite and was God of balance, justice and truth. The God of the moon was Thoth and Khonsu. Ra, was the sun god and took on many forms, which also known as Aten.
