Welcome to Dreamcatchers

The Native American tribes believes that a Dreamcatcher will ward off evil from coming into a person's subconcious mind while sleeping, by catching and holding everything evil like a spider's web catches and holds everything that comes into contact with it. The Native American Dreamcatchers are handmade objects based on a hoop made of either willow or similar natural material with a loose net in the middle and decorated with items unique to the particular dreamcatcher.

It is believed that a Dreamcatcher works by filtering a person's dreams, letting through only the good ones. For many years Dreamcatchers were only made by the Ojibwe people of the Chippewa tribe, the Ojibwe will use the dreamcatchers as a charm to protect sleeping children from nightmares. The legend is that the bad dreams will get caught in the web and fade away in the morning to the place where dreams are kept.
